Woman behind the words

 About me

Hi, I'm Lily Powell - a writer, mother, and wholehearted creative soul with a deep love for words, good food, and the wild, sacred rhythms of everyday life.

I became a mom when I was still doing some growing myself, and that experience shaped me in powerful, unexpected ways. Motherhood didn't just stretch my body - it stretched my soul. It made me softer and stronger, more intuitive, more honest, and infinitely more creative. It taught me how to hold both the heartbreak and the holiness of this life, often at the same time. I write for myself but also for the women who carry so much, who are doing their best with what they have, and who are searching for connection amidst the beautiful chaos.

Here, I share stories- some tender, some raw, some informational - all rooted in a desire to make others feel seen and make life a little more easy when everything else feels hard. My writing is a love letter to the in-between places; between exhaustion & joy, hope & doubt, strength & surrender.

I live a life that's equal parts softness and grit. I have rheumatoid arthritis, which has taught me deep respect for my body and a slower, more intentional pace. I'm learning to balance both my feminine and masculine energies - the nurturing and the doing, the flowing and the focused - and I'm always coming back to the truth that both have wisdom and purpose.

Born and raised in Idaho, and I love it here! Although I have no intentions of leaving I do like to travel and would love to tour Europe one day.  I love the country lifestyle and choose the mountains as my neighbor. You'll often find me on my yoga mat, wrangling my chickens or kids, scribbling in a notebook with a cup of tea nearby, or making something from scratch - not for the sake of perfection, but because there's something sacred in the simple act of creating. Homemade bread, handmade moments, and heartfelt words - they all carry this feeling of love you can't find anywhere else.

I'm passionate about raising kind humans, standing against bullying in all its forms, and cultivating a life that feels deeply rooted and real. I so enjoy our quiet mornings and hope to raise my babies to be wild little cowboys and cowgirls. One day, I dream of expanding our little homestead with more animals, more gardens, more flowers, and more room to breathe.

This corner of the internet is a place for anyone craving raw life, connection, and comfort - especially the young moms, the feelers, the fighters, and the makers. I'm so glad you're here. You're not alone.
